Grandpa

I didn't want to put this

picture in with my last post

so I am doing a seperate one.

The boys, Mom, and I went to visit

my grandparents yesterday.

I was trying to explain how I use my camera

to my grandma

and took a picture of Grandpa.

New Pigs

Last week we got new pigs.

We get two every year to raise.

The boys were so excited.

I gave Caleb the camera

and he took some pictures. 

He came back with all kinds

of pictures.

He even took one of their butt.

They boys go up to see them

almost every day.

They love having pigs.



Railroad Museum

For the boys birthdays,

we try to do something fun with them.

Gabe wanted to go to the railroad museum.

He had went there with his preschool class

this past year and LOVED it,

so he wanted to go back and take Daddy and Caleb.

So last Friday Sam took the afternoon off

and we went there.

The boys had a blast.

They loved playing in the toy room,

that they have.

Gabe's Calf & Other New Calves

Last week we gave Gabe a calf.

When I was younger I had one growing up

and really enjoyed it.

So we decided to do that for our boys.

Caleb has not had very good luck.

We gave him one from my old cow,

when she was about a year old she died.

So we gave him another on

out of the same cow.

She had one calf and was pregnant

with another,

and then one night was acting

very strange and then died.

It was very hard to tell him that she died.

So he now has another one that

Sam bought for him at a sale.

He is so excited about her.

We had given Gabe a calf a couple years ago,

but she died when she was about a week old.

So we decided to wait til he was a little

older to give him another one.

So last week we got a heifer calf

and her dad's name happens to be Gabe.

So we decided to give her to Gabe.

He named her Eagle.

Happenings

On Thursday we had some thunder and lightening.

None of it seemed to serious,

but a few hours later we got

a call that the neighbor boy

had been struck by lightening and killed.

I couldn't believe it.

You never know what is going

 to happen.

One minute everything is fine,

the next he's gone.

I can't imagine.

I saw him walking to school every morning

while I was waiting for the bus

with Caleb.

Today is the last day of school

for Caleb,

I am so glad.

Him, not so much.

He likes school.

We found out last week that

Gabe will be going to school

everyday, all day.

They must think he needs extra help.

We think this might be better,

than trying to remember if this

is the Wednesday he goes to school or not.

They are changing from half days to kids going

Monday, Thursday, and every other Weds or

Tuesday, Friday, and every other Weds.

Plus Caleb won't say, why does Gabe get to

stay home and he doesn't.

Saturday was Gabe's birthday,

we usually let them pick where they want to eat.

This year he choose Texas Roadhouse.

The boys love to eat there,

and they usually do pretty good.

They had him sit in a saddle

and everyone wished

him a happy birthday.

Today Gabe turns 5.

He is growing up so fast.

This fall he will go to kindergarden.

He is so looking forward to it.

He loved preschool so hopefully

he will love kindergarden.

Gabe loves to play with his tractors.

He loves to out with Sam,

especially if he is the field on the tractor.

He was so excited this week he got to

ride in the tractor while Sam

chopped hay and when he baled hay.

He loves the calves.

He like the cows as long as they are tied up.

If they get lose he runs and hides.

He like to help do stuff in the kitchen.

He loves to play with his cousins.

We are so thankful for you Gabe.

We love you.

My Doily

A couple of weeks ago,

my grandma gave me a doily

that was here mom's,

my great grandma.

It looks like it would have

taken a long time to make.

Apparently it was never used.

So my mom got it framed for me.

It is awesome.

This will be something,

that I can pass on to my boys some day.

Gabe's Pretend Birthday

Last Saturday we had Gabe's

birthday party.

He kept calling it his pretend birthday,

because in preschool that what they

called it when they celebrated his birthday.

We were busy getting the place cleaned up.



Usually Sam makes chicken bbq

but this year we just decided to cook on the grill.

We gave Gabe one of his presents early,

a new skid loader.

He had gotten one for Christmas a couple

of years ago,

but he had lost the bucket.

So we got him a new one.

I'm not sure why he looks so upset.
