Caleb's Last Day of 4th Grade....

For Caleb's last day
of school this year,
his class had a brunch.
I was able to go in and help.
They had fun playing games and
taking some pictures.
Caleb had a really good teacher this year.
We had the option of him keeping
his third grade teacher or getting
a new one.
I am so glad he got a different one.
She was so good for him
and he made some good friends,
especially Seth.

She is here....

Caleb's heifer, Elime
was due to have her calf this past week.
We didn't know if she would have it while we
were at the mountains or not.

She waited.

Tuesday morning  Sam pulled her calf.
There was a 25% chance it
could be a red calf.
And a 90% chance it would be a heifer.

This is what he got:

a RED heifer calf.
I wasn't expecting it.
Even though there was a chance
I didn't think she would have one.
Caleb was surprised when he got home
from school Tuesday.
He didn't realize it was red at first.
He is so excited about her.

Awana Quizzing....

On Saturday,
Caleb was involved in his first
bible quizzing.
He had a fun time doing it.
He did it with his T&T
Awana group.
They pick kids that are far enough
along in their book
so they can quiz on the whole book.
They have been practicing a lot during Awana.
They did three different kinds of quizzing:
Paddle,  written, and speed.
They were very serious about not taking
pictures during the quizzing.
Two of the leader got into an argument about it.
Not sure what it matters if you take picture or not.
I got some pics while they were
doing practice questions.

Awana Grand Prix...

A few weeks ago,
Caleb was in the Awana Grand Prix.
He did this last year and had so much fun.
Gabe could also do it this year,
but he does soccer Saturday morning
so he wanted to play soccer instead.
It turns out he could have made a car
because they forgot to tell the soccer leader
that the school gym was taken for the day
so we didn't have soccer.
Instead we went to see Caleb race.
He didn't win,
but have a fun time.

I also got these molds on clearance
to make these lollipops.

Yesterday Sam & I celebrated our
13th wedding anniversary.
He gave me this necklace as a gift.
I love it.
It is so nice to get jewelry
even if I don't wear it that much.

Caleb's Birthday!!!

Yesterday Caleb turned 10.
WOW!!
I can't believe time has gone so fast.
It seems like not that long ago he was a little baby.

We celebrated his birthday this weekend.
Saturday we had his party and
Sunday we went to the movies and
out for dinner.
He picked Alvin & the Chipmunks
for his movie and
then we went to Red Robin.

Happenings around the farm....

A couple weeks ago,
Sam loaded our loader tractor up
and took it to get fixed.
I took these pics for Gabe to see
since he had to be in school.
He loves to watch anything going on
with tractors.

A few new calves:

(Shout x Ali)

Caleb's heifer is due in about a month.
I have been wanting to get a picture of her
for him, but she is never by herself
plus I don't usually have my camera in the barn.
Sunday I got a few pics of her.

Gingerbread houses

We had a good Thanksgiving,
getting to send time with both of our families.
This is the first year that Caleb went deer hunting.
He had fun but wished he would have seen something.
Gabe gets so upset when he doesn't get
to do something Caleb does.
He doesn't understand that Caleb is four year older
and gets to do somethings that he can't do.

Gabe has had a loose tooth for a little while,
on Wednesday the boys were fighting
and Gabe got hit in the mouth.
He came out to the kitchen and we saw that his tooth
was missing,
apparently he must have swallowed it while
they were fighting.
Later he asked me if I was the tooth fairy.
When they were at AWANA
he was telling everybody he saw,
even people he didn't know,
that he lost a tooth.
He was so excited.
He wanted to know if the tooth fairy
left tractors. :)

Saturday I made Christmas cookies
with Jen & my mom-in-law.
It seemed so relaxed this year.
I guess because the boys are getting older
and you don't have to watch them
as closely.
We made, snickerdoodles, oatmeal raisins,
peanut butter, chocolate chip, peanut butter balls,
and peppermint patties.

The peanut butter balls are very yummy.
All you do is mix 1 pound of 10x sugar, 1-1/2 sticks butter,
1 cup peanut butter & 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Mix together, then melt chocolate.
Shape pb mixture into balls and coat.

Today I went to school to help Gabe's class,
they made gingerbread houses.
What a mess.
They kids had a blast .
The one kid had icing in his hair.
Gabe had it all over his shirt.
I was surprised nobody tried to eat anything.

Oh yeah.  Last night we got this:
