Mom's Birthday...

A couple weeks ago 

it was Mom's birthday.

Heather & I decided to take her

out for lunch.

We went to Oregan Dairy 

so Grandma & Grandpa Lefever 

could go along,

Cassie was also able to go along.

The boys were off school for Easter break

so they got to come along too.

After lunch we took the kids to the

playground at Oregan Dairy,

which they loved.

Then we went back to Grandma's

house to have angel food cake.

Easter....

It was wonderful to have Easter off

this year.

In the last 12 years I think we 

have had 3 Easter's off.

We spent the day with family 

and going to church.

We made the boys dress up 

this year

and they (Caleb)

weren't too happy about that.

Caleb didn't understand why he had to wear

a tie and Gabe had a clip on tie.

Gabe didn't understand why Caleb 

didn't have to wear a vest.

I thought they looked nice.

After church we went

to Sam's parents

and had a big lunch.

Then the kids had an egg hunt.

Then we went to Mom's and

the kids had another egg hunt.

Early Spring Weather....

We have really been enjoying

this beautiful weather,

the last few weeks.

We really had some crazy weather

this year.

The boys only had one delay this year

and that was on the first day of school.

Last week they had half days all week.

We had such beautiful weather that

they could be outside all afternoon.

Sam was working on his disk last week 

so the tractor was in front of the house

and Gabe had so much fun playing on it.

The flowers are blooming all around the house.

We had to mow grass this week.

I really wasn't ready to start doing that.

We are really loving the beautiful spring weather.

The boys have gotten their shorts out.

Everything is very green.

The rye fields are growing,

so rye will be done early this year.

We also got another red heifer calf this week.

I don't know if we have ever had this many

red calves at once.

She is here....

Caleb's heifer, Elime

was due to have her calf this past week.

We didn't know if she would have it while we 

were at the mountains or not.

She waited.

Tuesday morning  Sam pulled her calf.

There was a 25% chance it 

could be a red calf.

And a 90% chance it would be a heifer.

This is what he got:

a RED heifer calf.

I wasn't expecting it.

Even though there was a chance

I didn't think she would have one.

Caleb was surprised when he got home

from school Tuesday.

He didn't realize it was red at first.

He is so excited about her.
