Easter Pictures

This year I wanted to take pictures

of the boys on Easter.

I took them the night before.

They were all dressed and waiting

for everyone to come,

plus it was nice outside.

Easter Dinner

Saturday night we had my family for Easter dinner.

Mom and Dad were in Alabama,

but everyone else was here.

I wasn't sure if the weather

was going to cooperate

for us to have our egg hunt.

But in the afternoon the sun

came out and it turned out

to be a nice evening.

I made ham,

party potatoes

baked corn

salad(Cassie brought the salad),

and homemade bread.

Lego Night

Bart Mennonite Church is having a lego night on

May 20 at 6:30pm.

Join us for an evening of family fun,

fellowship, and lego building.

Each child will receive a lego or lego duplo

to take home.

Please RSVP by May 6 so we can have a

lego for each child.

We will have lots of legos to build with.

We attended a lego night at a church a couple years ago,
it was a lot of fun.

Jelly Beans

Yesterday Gabe got a card that had the meaning

of each color jelly bean.

I thought it was pretty neat.

Red is for the blood He gave.

Green is for the grass He made.

Yellow is for the sun so bright.

Orange is for the edge of night.

Black is for the sins we made.

White is for the grace He gave.

Purple is for His hour of sorrow.

Pink is for a new tomorrow.

It also said:

"A handful of jelly beans...

simple, colorful and sweet,

reminds us of the reasons

He makes our life complete."

Raspberry goes to school

On Monday we took

Raspberry to Gabe's preschool.

Most of the kids seemed

to really enjoy petting the calf.

We took a bottle along

so they could pretend they were feeding her.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Ingredients:

2 -1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup pumpkin
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups peeled finely chopped apples
1 cup raisins

Streusel Topping:

2 Tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons butter

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine eggs, pumpkin, and oil. Add to dry ingredients; stir until just moistened.
Stir in apples and raisins.
Spoon batter into greased or paper-lines muffin pans, filling 3/4 full.
Mix topping ingredients in a small bowl. Mix until crumbly.
Sprinkle topping over batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
